Long Road Expeditions is owned and run by Scott and Erin Long of Grovespring, Missouri. We started it to take people to the places that shaped history, on foot, in small groups, with the time and care those places deserve.
Scott plans and leads every trip on the ground. Erin runs bookings, payments and the business side, and she travels with the group too, so you will always have two of us looking after you.
Scott served as an M1A2 Abrams crewman and HQ platoon sergeant with the 2/12 and 1/16 Cavalry and deployed to Bosnia in 1999. Since 2017 he has organized an annual reunion that brings nearly 20 veterans and their families together. In Civil Air Patrol he is a ground team leader and has directed national-level training activities.
He builds a trip the way he would run an operation: a sound plan, a briefing every morning, and nobody left behind.
Erin handles reservations, payments and the paperwork that keeps every trip running smoothly. When you have a question about your booking, she is usually the one you will talk to, and on the trip she walks alongside the group.
These are places where people gave everything. We visit them with care and time to reflect.
Every day is briefed, every route has a shorter option, and every traveler is accounted for.
One clear price, with what's included and what isn't spelled out before you book.
Our trips are built around veterans and their spouses, and anyone who wants to walk this ground is welcome.
